Toyota Form Winning Team Partnership with Raleigh – GAC
Toyota is delighted to announce that it will partner with British professional cycling team, Raleigh GAC, providing them with three Toyota Auris Hybrid Touring Sports vehicles to support the team during races.
The three vehicles are wrapped in distinctive Team Raleigh GAC designs which are easily recognisable at any race and add to the sporty look of the Touring Sports model. The car is well-suited to the demanding environment of a cycle race with plenty of space for the riders, mechanics and their kit, and an efficient hybrid engine to allow for good economy and low emissions when driving in frantic race convoys.
Stuart Ferma, Manager, National Fleet Sales, said: “We are pleased to begin this partnership with such a successful team who we hope will be able to continue their competitive success with the support of the Toyota Auris Hybrid vehicles. We know that hybrid technology has proved to be highly reliable and efficient, and will prove ideal for the requirements of Team Raleigh.”
Founded in 2010, Team Raleigh is a 12-strong British UCI Continental cycling team who ride in senior professional events in the UK and Europe.
Cherie Pridham, Team Principal, said: “It is pretty special to have Toyota on board and we are immensely proud to have the local association, knowing that the Toyota Auris is manufactured in Derby, where many of our team sponsors are based. Toyota has had an incredible presence at Derby County football club for many years and is committed to the local community. We are proud to be a part of that.”
“The support we have had from Stuart Ferma and his team has been second to none. We really feel that this will be a great partnership, and we are looking forward to working closely together over the coming years as our team builds on its current success.”
