Toyota GB Improves its Ranking in the 2021 National Undergraduate Employability Awards

12 March 2021

Toyota GB has improved its ranking in the 2021 National Undergraduate Employability (NUE) Awards, to fourth place among the top 60 medium-sized undergraduate schemes, having been placed 13th in 2020 and 44th in 2019.

The NUE Awards recognise those companies that make a real difference to the lives of undergraduates across the UK. The Awards are based solely on student reviews made on RateMyPlacement.co.uk

Each year Toyota gives placements to around 20 undergraduates studying a variety of degree courses at different universities and further education establishments across the UK.  The students spend a year working in a department of Toyota, such as Marketing Communications, Product Marketing, PR, Social Media, Finance or Fleet.  A number of these students have gone on to secure a permanent role with Toyota after their graduation.

The undergraduate placement scheme is one of Toyota’s three emerging talent recruitment streams; the other two being an 18-month rotational graduate scheme and a degree level apprenticeship which is a new initiative launched this year, open for applications now: https://www.jobtrain.co.uk/toyota/displayjob.aspx?jobid=218

Chris Hayes, Toyota (GB) Director of People and Planning, comments: “It is always rewarding to gain feedback from our industry placement students. We are delighted they enjoy their 12 months here at TGB and feel our placements give them invaluable skills that set them up for success in their future careers. To see this verified by independent RatemyPlacement student reviews is hugely encouraging and highly motivating. The move up the NUE Award rankings to fourth place is a great tribute to our people across the business who work hard to ensure a Toyota placement gives the students real employment experience and professional skills.”
