Gazoo Racing wheelchair

Toyota Gazoo Racing’s technical excellence has delivered a string of world championship titles in world rally and sportscar competition and produced a series of exciting new road cars in the form of GR Supra, GR Yaris and the upcoming GR 86. Now the team have applied their motorsports knowhow to a different field of competition, designing a new, adaptable racing wheelchair using high-tech materials and advanced ergonomics. Funding for startups

Toyota and the ISDI Digital Business School have launched the second edition of the Toyota Startup Accelerator funding programme, calling for innovative young businesses to put forward their ideas around inclusive mobility and sustainability, Successful applicants will be supported in development of proofs of concept and given funding and collaboration opportunities to help realise their ambitions. GR 86 breaks cover

The Goodwood Festival of Speed brought the world-first public on-road appearance of the upcoming Toyota GR 86. The coupe joined its stablemates, GR Yaris and GR Supra in a “Power of Three” celebration of Toyota’s new generation of motorsports-inspired road cars. Read more here.

Clean bus business

Toyota branding is to feature on a new breed of zero-emission hydrogen fuelled and electric buses produced by its manufacturing partner CaetanoBus. The Portuguese company uses Toyota fuel cell stacks, hydrogen tanks and other key components in its new model range. Read more here.

Record-breaking Rovanperä

Toyota Gazoo Racing World Rally Team’s Kalle Rovanperä has set a new record with his maiden victory for the team on Rally Estonia. The 20-year-old Finn became the youngest winner to date in the World Rally Championship, taking the record from his “boss,” team principal Jari-Matti Latvala. Read more here.
