Toyota named in Fortune magazine’s Change the World list

For the third time in four years, Toyota has been included in Fortune magazine’s Change the World list, recognised for its pioneering work with robots that can help disabled people and those recovering from injury or illness with rehabilitation and support around the home. Read more here.

Clean hydrogen future for heavy haulage

Toyota has produced a new version of its heavy duty hydrogen fuel cell electric truck. Codenamed Beta, it can carry large loads for up to 300 miles on a full tank, producing no harmful emissions. It further develops the original Alpha model that’s been operating in the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles. Read more here.

African odyssey

Toyota’s 5 Continents Drive is heading for Africa. The next stage of this unprecedented global test drive, under way from November, will see a fleet of cars experiencing a wide range of routes, from mountain passes to safari trails, covering more than 9,000 miles. Read more here.

Tänak is Toyota’s man of the moment

Ott Tänak has notched up his second World Rally Championship victory in a row, winning Germany’s Rallye Deutschland in dominant form and strengthening Toyota’s bid for the manufacturers’ title. Read more here.

Ten years of MR2 racing

Ten years on from its launch, the Toyota MR2 Championship continues to attract full grids for its grassroots UK racing series. Drivers in all three generations of Toyota’s popular roadster were out in force to celebrate the anniversary at the Silverstone circuit. Read more here.

Land Cruiser joins Toyota’s LCV list

Toyota has strengthened its light commercial line-up with a new Land Cruiser workhorse model. The new Land Cruiser Utility Commercial has all the model’s legendary rugged performance but has been tailored for business with a rear load space and simplified specification. Read more here.

Best of the Blog: drift superstars in Liverpool

The Toyota blog travelled to Liverpool for the final round of the Red Bull Drift Shifters competition and the chance to see drift king Fredric Aasbø in action in his 900hp GT86. In spite of a series of setbacks, Freddie still had the precision skills to make it to the winners’ podium. Read more here.
