Toyota Returns as Vehicle Sponsor of Raleigh-GAC Pro-Cycling Team
Team Raleigh-GAC, one of Britain’s premier cycling squads, is enjoying a second season with sponsorship support from Toyota. A fleet of three Auris Hybrid Touring Sports will again be playing a key role helping the team meet its busy schedule across the UK and overseas, transporting personnel, bikes, kit and equipment for both training sessions and competition events.
Introduced to the team in 2016, the Auris Hybrid Touring Sports has already put in thousands of miles of dependable service. Cherie Pridham, Team Principal, said: “We are pleased and grateful that Toyota is continuing its support. Not only have the Auris been very reliable, they have also proved remarkably economical to run – certainly more than any other vehicle we’ve used in the past.
“The cars give us plenty of space to carry what we need, including secure roof system for the bikes, and they have been both reliable and comfortable to drive – all essential qualities when you are working to strict timetables and covering long distances.”
Stuart Ferma, Toyota National Fleet Sales Manager, said: “We’re pleased once again to be supporting Team Raleigh-GAC and hope that our Auris Hybrids can play their part in another successful season of racing.”
The sponsorship represents a strong East Midlands partnership: Team Raleigh-GAC is based in Derby, not far from the Toyota Burnaston plant, the production centre for all Auris models in Europe. Team Raleigh-GAC, formed in 2010, competes at the highest national level of cycling and in UCI-sanctioned events overseas. This year it will be seeking its fourth consecutive elite series championship title.
