Two New Conversions Join Toyota’s Line-Up At The 2001 LCV Show

The new Hiace Crew Cab and Hiace LWB 14/15 seater minibuses join the full range of Toyota’s highly successful light commercial vehicles on display at the 2001 NEC Birmingham LCV show, Hall 2, Stand 2230, 20-22 March 2001.

Adding new versatility to the Hiace range, the Hiace Crew Cab seats up to six people whilst maintaining a spacious 1220mm load space in the standard wheelbase and 1730mm in the long wheelbase. Prices start from £13,756 excluding VAT with a choice of two trim levels.

Another addition to the range is the 14/15 seater minibus. Both versions are based on the long wheelbase Hiace van, the 15 seater on the GS derivative and the 14 seater on the GX model. These minibuses are particularly suited to schools and join the nine and 12 seater minibuses as part of Toyota’s Specialist Vehicle range serving a variety of customer needs.

The Hiace commercial vehicle range maintains its strong appeal including the choice of 2.7-litre, 16-valve 141 bhp petrol or 2.4-litre diesel engines. The diesel engine is available in both standard or long wheelbase chassis with four or five door configuration. The petrol version is available in four door, standard wheelbase only. All Hiace vans have nearside sliding side door for extra loading versatility with the option of either a tailgate or swing out rear doors, the latter being particularly good for loading by forklift truck.

Toyota offers Hiace in a wide range of mobility, taxi, minibus, Hi-Top and refrigeration versions based on both standard and long wheelbases.

Following an increase in payload on all four-wheel drive model Toyota Hilux pick-ups in November 1999, VAT registered businesses have been able to reclaim the VAT element of the price. This has resulted in a considerable increase in Hilux double cab sales, strengthening the Toyota Hilux’s position as one of the best selling pick-up trucks across the world.
