Dream Car kids competition finale
The global winners have been announced in this year’s Toyota Dream Car art competition for children, with concepts for multi-lingual vehicles, cars that provide classroom accommodation and a car that can improve the environment at atom-level taking the top honours. Read more here.
Wraps off new Prius at Frankfurt
The all-new, fourth generation Prius will take centre stage on Toyota’s stand at the Frankfurt motor show, alongside the new RAV4 and a second rendering of the Toyota C-HR crossover concept vehicle. Read more here.
Auris by another name
American customers can now order their own version of the Toyota Auris – known states-side at the Scion iM. The hatchback is tailored for the youth market and has entered showrooms alongside the new Scion iA. Read more here.
Avensis adds five more stars to Toyota’s safety galaxy
The new Avensis is the latest Toyota model to achieve the top five-star rating from safety test body Euro NCAP. Launched earlier this year, the British-built car is reaping more benefits from its standard-fit Toyota Safety Sense package. Read more here.
Mirai arrives in London for 65-plate day
The Toyota Mirai brought hydrogen power to London on 1 September, on the first day of the new 65-plate registration. The zero-emissions saloon goes on sale in the UK this autumn, with this year’s supply already snapped up by customers. Read more here.
Results from the ‘ring
Toyota Gazoo Racing claimed fifth and sixth place in the latest round of the World Endurance Championship, which took place the Nürburgring in Germany at the weekend. Read more here.
Best of the blog: Toyota’s tiger-skinned hillclimber
Toyota’s fleet of retro-liveried GT86 has proved hugely popular and the tiger-striped Esso Ultron tribute car has recently competed in a hillclimb event to help raise money for charity. It was one of the cars chosen by Alisdair Suttie and David Finlay in their Multi Car Hillclimb Challenge. Read more here.
