Toyota Increases Its British Manufacturing Output With Start Of Production Of New Auris Touring Sports

Toyota opened a new chapter in its European operations today with the official start of production of the new Auris Touring Sports at Toyota Manufacturing UK’s (TMUK) Burnaston car plant. The Rt Hon Patrick McLoughlin MP, UK Secretary of State for Transport, joined Didier Leroy, President and CEO of Toyota Motor Europe, at a ceremony to see the new car off the line at the Derbyshire factory.

Toyota Celebrates Start Of New Auris Production At Burnaston

Toyota’s proud record of manufacturing in the UK reached another landmark today with the official start of production of the all-new Auris at its Burnaston factory. Dr Vince Cable, the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, welcomed Toyota’s continued investment in its UK operations, which will also see the new Auris Touring Sports estate car built at the plant from next year.

From Clydebank to Monte Carlo – Yaris provides hero drive

A Toyota Yaris provided by Helensburgh Toyota has proved to be the perfect vehicle for reporter Andrew Gibson and photographer Stewart Robertson from the Clydebank Post to take part in the grueling Monte Carlo rally. Starting last week from Clydebank College through to Monte Carlo the journey covered 1,300 miles and took them through the Alps.

Two Million Yaris Built In Europe (and counting…)

Toyota is celebrating building its two millionth Yaris in Europe, the car coming off the line at its Valenciennes factory in northern France on 28 October. The milestone has been reached in the same year as Toyota Motor Manufacturing France celebrates its 10th anniversary.

He left public practice to work for NEC and Psion in the consumer electronics sector before joining Toyota (GB) in 1997. Big Fun on the Little Rally

The weekend dawned damp and misty, but there was a glint of sun low on the horizon and a rainbow in the sky. Ideal rally conditions, but this rally had a difference. The cars were Scalextric type, but the rivalry full scale.
